The short version. HealthLens is a free wellness tracker, not a medical device. Use it to log and understand your own readings, and talk to a healthcare professional about decisions. If you connect an AI provider, you do so with your own key, under that provider's terms. You can stop using HealthLens and delete your account at any time.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Use ("terms") are an agreement between you and HealthLens ("we", "us"). By installing or using the HealthLens app, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use HealthLens.
2. Not medical advice
HealthLens provides general wellness information. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition.
- Target ranges, statuses such as "In range" or "High", next-check suggestions, pattern insights, projections and AI summaries are general guidance based on the numbers you enter. They may be wrong or incomplete.
- Projections ("if this pattern continues") are estimates from your recent trend, not predictions.
- Never start, stop or change a medication or treatment because of something HealthLens shows you. Talk to a qualified healthcare professional.
- Reading a number from a photo can make mistakes. Always check that a scanned value matches your device before you save it.
- HealthLens is not for emergencies. If you feel unwell or a reading worries you, contact your doctor or local emergency services right away.
3. Who can use HealthLens
You must be at least 18 years old. You may use HealthLens to record readings for another adult, such as a parent you care for, only with their permission.
4. Your account
You sign in with your Google account. You're responsible for keeping access to your Google account and your phone secure, and for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has accessed it.
5. Your data
You own the readings, notes and other content you add to HealthLens. You give us permission to store, sync and process that content only as needed to run HealthLens for you, as described in the Privacy Policy. We don't sell your data, show ads, or use your readings to train AI models.
You can export your readings as a CSV file and delete your account at any time. See how to delete your account.
6. AI providers and your key
AI features are optional. If you add an AI provider (for example OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Ollama, Groq, OpenRouter, Mistral or a server you run yourself):
- You use your own API key, and you're responsible for following that provider's terms and for any fees it charges.
- When you ask for an analysis or an AI photo reading, the relevant data is sent directly from your phone to the provider you chose. That provider handles it under its own terms and privacy policy.
- AI output can be inaccurate. We don't control third-party providers and aren't responsible for their services, availability or output.
7. Acceptable use
Please don't:
- use HealthLens in a way that breaks the law or infringes anyone's rights;
- try to access another person's account or data, or get around our security measures;
- interfere with, overload or disrupt the app or the services behind it;
- reverse engineer the app except where the law allows it;
- use HealthLens as a clinical, diagnostic or emergency tool, or to provide medical services to others.
8. Changes and availability
HealthLens is under active development. We may add, change or remove features, and the service may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance. Readings are saved on your phone first, so you can keep logging offline. We'll try to give notice before removing a major feature.
9. Ownership
The HealthLens app, name, logo, design and software belong to us and our licensors. These terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app for your own wellness tracking. Third-party names shown in the app, such as AI provider names, belong to their owners.
10. Disclaimers
HealthLens is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including about accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be excluded.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any health decision made using information from HealthLens. HealthLens is free, and our total liability for any claim relating to it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (if any) or INR 1,000. Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited, such as for fraud.
12. Ending your use
You can stop using HealthLens at any time and delete your account from Settings → Delete account. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or if the law requires it. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to export your data.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in India have jurisdiction over any dispute, unless the consumer laws of the country where you live give you the right to bring a claim there.
14. Changes to these terms
If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app before they take effect. If you keep using HealthLens after that, the new terms apply.
